HONORING LEGACY.

FUELING FUTURES.

The Rashawn D.E. Allen Memorial Foundation provides scholarships, mentorship, and inspiration to young leaders in memory of LCPL Rashawn D.E. Allen.

The Life & Legacy of LCPL Rashawn D. E. Allen

Rashawn D. E. Allen was born August 8, 1994, in Hartford, CT, but grew up in St. Croix, U.S.V.I. He graduated from the St. Croix Central High School in 2012, where he was a member of the JROTC Drill Team for four years, a football team member for three years, and a track and field team member for two years.

After graduation, Rashawn attended the University of the Virgin Islands for one semester and was a part of the University’s ROTC program before moving back to Connecticut. While there, he found a job and started attending Colorado Tech online, studying Computer Science.

In 2017, he decided that the military was a route he wanted to pursue and enrolled as a soldier in the United States Marines. He served in the Transportation Unit of the Marines.

Rashawn had a love for fixing things – motorcycles, cars, etc. He had such a knack for fixing them, he made it his side hustle while working his full-time job and serving in the military.

On June 22, 2020, at the tender age of 25 years old, while test driving a motorcycle he had just fixed for a friend, Rashawn was involved in a fatal traffic accident that claimed his life instantaneously.

This scholarship and the foundation, Rashawn D. E. Allen Memorial Foundation, serve to keep his legacy alive and help those in need, something he did often.

Rashawn was a fixer — of engines and of spirits. This foundation is his legacy in motion.
